Well, well! You haven't changed a bit, have you? Of course I didn't think you would, considering that it's only been a few days as far as I'm concerned, but that's not the point! Point is, I'm back! And I'd like to talk to you when you get the chance! I should probably apologize for not getting in contact with you sooner, but starting out with brand new Pokémon and returning to the labs... I just got carried away! There are more scientists around now and oh do they have some fascinating work! Of course I didn't actually test any of their work since I get the feeling they'd be rather mad about that, but it's been so tempting--

Ah, right, right, the point of this message! I'm back! Apparently it's been quite some time here, but I didn't even get to go home. I just woke up and said to myself "huh, well I guess it's just another lovely day in Johto" and then bam! I realized that I didn't have my usual Pokémon or any of my items and a quick glance outside revealed the truth! I'd slept for a whole season! Or so I thought; apparently I returned home during that time, but I don't remember that at all.

But yes, I'm back! I'm sure you've missed me, but now we can continue our research! I hope you haven't forgotten all about those floating Steelix! It's something I plan on doing as soon as possible!

[It has been a while, good sir - he honestly wasn't expecting to see you here at all, much less with all of your memories intact, hang on, hang on.]

While I would advise against touching any of the other scientists' work - they tend to be a bit tetchy about that, and understandably so - it is rather good to see you; it's been quite some time, yes, and you were registering on the 'Gear as having left this place entirely, so I can assure you that wherever you were, it certainly wasn't here.

There's no reason to sound quite so surprised, you know! This place is quite fascinating and if I had the choice, I'd return here!

[If only because he gets the feeling Chell is going to do something horrible back home within the next five seconds...]

Shame I got sent home, but that's not important now! I'm back and prepared to continue our experiments! Ah, but what have you been up to? What sorts of new things have you discovered since we last spoke?

Admittedly my own research hasn't been as productive as I would have liked; at the same time, somehow I think you'll be rather able to change that.

However, there was something rather interesting that occurred in July; I'll be sure to tell you about it in person, I'm not about to discuss it over the device, but I think it's something you would have approved of.

As for your Pokémon, I have Alpha and the...companion bat in my possession, at the very least. I assume you're going to want those returned to you?

Oh of course, of course! Where are you now, if I might ask? Still in Kanto? I'll see about hopping the first train out there-- oh! I don't have any money! Ah, well that's a pain. I suppose I can pick up a job for a week or so until I've got enough to get out there. It'll probably be horrendously boring, but that's a small price to pay to return to testing!

[At the mention of his Pokémon Wheatley brightens up.]

Ah, you have them? Oh, it'll be so great to see them again! I'm sure Companion Bat's missed me. Does she still sing that song? Oh, she hasn't evolved, has she? Not that I'd really mind if she has, she just wouldn't be able to sit on me and I'm half-afraid she'll still try to even though those-- ah, what are they called? Swoopbats? - well, whatever they're called, they're so much larger than the Woobats and I'd really rather not be knocked over...

[What was that about incessant yattering?]

She hasn't evolved, no. I haven't felt that it's my place to train her, though I do keep her outside the ball most of the time - and yes, she's still rather partial to that song.

In regards to the train, I'll likely be in Saffron to meet you in about ten days' time. There's business I'm attending to in Vermilion City; it's something I feel I should be keeping an eye on. So you have time, as far as earning money goes.

I wouldn't have minded if you had decided to train her! But I can definitely see your point; I would have felt odd attempting to train one of yours - ignoring the fact that I'm fairly sure they could kill me if I did anything out of line, of course. But I'm glad to hear that she's doing alright!

[He claps his hands together, clearly quite pleased.]

Excellent, excellent! What's going on in Vermillion?

Ah, right - there's a rather large gathering here, due to a battling tournament that's going on. I entered with some of my Pokémon myself, though I've been removed from competition; one of our coworkers is still in, however, and I'm interested in seeing how he fares.

[And making sure he doesn't do anything off-the-rails, like completely destroy Vermilion, but you know.]

Oho, a battling competition? It's about time Johto had one of those! I bet it's absolutely brilliant! You'll have to tell me how things turn out and who wins and all that! So which one is it? One of the field agents, I'm assuming? I'm not all that familiar with them, unfortunately. Probably should have tried to learn more about them, but there's plenty of time to do that now! Ah, I suppose I should ask, has anyone else returned home since I left?

It's one of the field agents, yes; he's rather high-ranking, actually, though he still has his cover intact among the general population.

And speaking of the organization, we've lost a good amount from our ranks. There are a few new ones in the science division, however, one of whom specializes in Steel; I don't know if you were familiar with him, but Dr Kato is still here. Gorthan and that...woman from your world are no longer present, however.

What? What? She's gone? She returned home? That's not--! That's not fair!

[Oh hang on, that's gotten Wheatley to rage. At least it's not aimed at you, Descole?]

Why that-- that-- woman! How dare she return home! I wasn't finished with her! She was supposed to still be here! How dare she...!

[He'll calm down after a few moments though, folding his arms and trying not to look too pissed off.]

Right, well. I appreciate the information. I suppose it's better to find out now than to go searching for her and find out the hard way.

W-well! She's not allowed to return home when we haven't even settled why she was so upset with me for going to Kanto in the first place!
